Your individual driving lessons cover a wide range of important skills and maneuvers. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll learn:
- Lane Changes: Safely changing lanes is a vital skill for all drivers. You’ll practice checking your mirrors, signaling, looking for blind spots, and smoothly moving from one lane to another. This practice prepares you for various driving situations, including highway driving and navigating through traffic.
- Parking: Parking skills are crucial for everyday driving. You’ll practice parallel parking, parking on inclines (both uphill and downhill), reverse parking, and front parking. These techniques are not only important for passing the driving test but also for parking in real-world situations.

Getting Ready for the G2 or G Driving Test in Lindsay, which is usually linked to obtaining a full, unrestricted driver’s license, includes a practical road test. During this test, your driving skills are assessed, covering aspects like starting and stopping, turning, lane changes, navigating intersections, maintaining a safe following distance, understanding right of way, demonstrating general driving competence, and exhibiting positive behavioral factors, including your attitude towards others. It also evaluates your knowledge of road rules and your ability to make safe and responsible decisions while driving.

The Senior Driver Refresher Course is recommended for seniors who either… Have lost their driving license due to an at fault collision, OR: Are of age 80+ and due for renewal of their class G driver’s license.
Ontario’s senior driver programs aim to keep seniors driving for as long as they can safely do so.
Once drivers reach 80 years of age, every two years they must:
- Take a vision test
- Undergo a driver record review
- Participate in a 45-minute Group Education Session (GES)
- During the GES, complete two, brief, non-computerized in-class screening assignments
- If necessary, take a road test
- This entire renewal process will take a total of about 90 minutes.
Please note that this is a license renewal program. Existing and valid licenses will not be revoked, but all requirements need to be met before your license is renewed.
