Which program is best for me?
We offer 4 programs in total. We have driver training courses for beginners that hold a G1 or G2 license, and refresher and re training courses for drivers with a G licence.
- G1 Licensed Drivers: If you hold a G1 or you want to get a G1 before you start learning to drive, you can either take the Beginner Driving Certificate Program (BDE Course)
- G2 Licensed Drivers: If you have a G2 or you need to refresher your driving skills before taking a road test.
- All Drivers: If you are going for a road test or retest for G1 or G2 exit and you want to know if you are properly prepared, consider taking the Evaluation and Practice course.
- If you have received a letter of driving improvement from the court then you should take the Driver Retraining Program.
How soon can I complete the in-class lessons?
Royal Drivers provides you with two options to complete in-class driving lessons:
The online course can be completed in 10 calendar days or two weekends.
How early can I go for my MTO road test?
If you take the Ministry Approved BDE course, you can take your G2 test 8 months from the date your G1 license is issued. Otherwise you must wait a minimum of 1 year if you don’t take the course.
What are the ministry fees if I fail my road test?
If you fail your first attempt, you will have to pay:
- $53.75.00 for your G1 exit test
- $91.25 for your G2 exit
What if I Required Proof of Course Completion?
Students wanting proof of driving course completion for possible insurance discounts and have been processed through on-line certification transactions need to obtain their driver license history. This is done by request through the MTO at any of the local licensing centers. The Driver License History (DLH) search can only be requested by the driver license holder, as it contains personal information. The application must be signed by the applicant. Cost to apply for the DLH is $12.00
When can I join a driver training course?
Royal Drivers courses on a regular basis. Our E-Learning courses are available 24/7. Students can choose their own days and time to study and for the In-Car contact us for availability.
Are payment plans Available?
Yes! Payment plans are available for the Beginner Driving Certificate Program (BDE Course).
Here is how it works: You can pay half of the course fee when you start either the 10 hours of flexible interactive training hours or the 20 hours of classroom training (Whichever comes first). You then pay the outstanding fees on your 1st in-car lesson.
Are course lessons enough?
If you feel you need extra driving lessons, you can pay per lesson and you can stop anytime you wish or choose a mini packages.Talk to your instructor and ask them to suggest what you need to work on. You can also call our office with any questions you may have. We will help you with any additional training you need.
Can I use my instructor’s car?
Yes! You can use the instructor’s car for your road test. The fee to use your instructor’s vehicle.
We recommend you to use a car that you are familiar with when you take your road test.
How much Discount will I get on my Insurance with the BDE course certificate?
It really depends on your age, driving record, gender, type of car, etc. Contact your Insurance Company or broker for specific information.
